1st Pillar — Shahada

What is Islam?
Islam is a monotheistic religion centered on belief in one God, Allah, and guided by the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It emphasizes values like peace, compassion, and justice in daily life.
How did the spread of Islam affect the world?
The spread of Islam connected diverse cultures through trade, knowledge, and shared religious beliefs, leading to advancements in science, art, and philosophy. It also shaped societies by promoting values of justice, community, and learning across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
What do Muslims believe?
Muslims believe in one unique and incomparable God; in the angels created by Him; in the prophets who conveyed His revelations to humanity; in the Day of Judgment and personal accountability for one’s actions; in God’s absolute control over human destiny; and in life after death.
They believe in a line of prophets beginning with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them all.
However, God’s final message to humanity—a reaffirmation of the eternal truth and a summary of all previous teachings—was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel.
